Iran Youth Voters Demand Change in 2009 Election

Mousavi is a former prime minister who gathered a great noisy crowd in a rally on Monday night.
Iran has a population of 66 million people and has been a threat to the west with their work towards constructing of a nuclear bomb.

The youth of Iran who support Mousavi are hoping for change they can believe it -more jobs and lower prices in a country that is wealthy with oil.
The young voters believe that Iran has lost face or standing in the world due to Ahmadinejad’s views and the defense of his nuclear program.

Ahmadinejad is either despised for bring Iran down in the eyes of the world and higher unemployment or he is a hero of the honest man.
Other candidates -Mohsen Rezaei are former commander in the guard and a former speaker in government Mahdi Karroubi are not gathering support.  However Karroubi is typified as a reformer who wants more equal rights for women, minorities and a healthier relationship with the United States.

The stakes are high- and if no one wins 50 percent of the votes in Friday’s election there will be a run off on June 19th.
critics say that even if Ahmadinejad loses the election -this would not change the Iran-US relations, because the Supreme religious leader the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is the final arbitrator of the election,Iran’s policies and nuclear weapons.
It seems the youth of Iran have a different idea of Iran policy and want change -similarly as in the US and the change people voted for in President Obama.
